Meanwhile, Steven was in the kitchen wearing an apron, simmering a fresh soup. His tall frame stood straight and firm, like a proud cypress tree.
His handsome face was expressionless, but his noble air was enough to make the humble kitchen shine.
Myron stood there, a suit bag in hand, staring in disbelief at the man in the kitchen. He swallowed hard.
Steven glanced at him. “How did it go?”
Myron's eyes darted around the kitchen before he stepped slowly into the room, still holding the suit bag.
“I took care of everything you asked. I sent the kid back to his mother, and Leonard's case has been dropped. He should be able to return to the country in a few days.” He looked at the domesticated Steven, who was a world away from the ruthless man who dominated the business world. “Steven, you're getting crazier by the day. I don't even know what you're thinking anymore.”
Steven said flatly, “Spare me the commentary.”
“Didn't you say Zephyra got her memory back? If you're going to be ruthless, be ruthless. You already have her brother's kid in your hands, so you should keep using that as leverage. Zephyra isn't some sweet little kitten; she's a tigress who will claw your eyes out. Now that her memory is back, she's definitely going to settle old and new scores with you. If you're not tough, if you go soft on her, there's no telling how she'll retaliate.”
Steven shot him a look. “Who are you calling a tigress?”
Myron: “...”
He was silent for a few seconds before nodding in resignation.
“Fine, fine, my mistake. I shouldn't have said a bad word about her. Just pretend I didn't say anything.”
Steven didn't respond, instead tasting the soup to check the seasoning.
Myron sniffed the fragrant aroma of the soup, smacking his lips before offering a sober analysis.
“Steven, what's your game plan here? I told you before to tie her down with a child, but you wouldn't listen. Now she's pregnant, but you've also exposed what happened with her brother. Given the situation… do you really think she'll remarry you?”
Before Steven could answer, he continued on his own.
