I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 730

Steven had to listen to me. He produced a wheelchair from somewhere and said he would push me to the tests.

I refused at first, but after standing for half an hour, I gave in. Maybe it was an aftereffect of the fall, but my back was aching.

Steven held the test forms and wheeled me up and down the hospital floors. Soon, his forehead was covered in a fine sheen of sweat.

In the hallway, I noticed many women were there alone. They looked at me with a mixture of confusion, as if I were making a fuss over nothing, and envy.

The scene was achingly familiar. In my past life, Steven had accompanied me just like this, showing me endless patience and tolerance. Back then, I was filled with joy, eagerly awaiting our baby with him.

Of course, I had selfish motives back then, too. I thought that having a baby would tie Steven down, make him truly fall in love with me, and stay with me.

Perhaps it was karma that I never got what I wished for.

After a whole morning of tests, I was perfectly calm, while Steven's white shirt was damp with sweat. The collar was slightly open, and a bead of sweat trickled down his throat. It was surprisingly sexy.

I quickly averted my gaze, but Steven caught me. He leaned down slightly and whispered in my ear, "If you want to look, just look. No need to be shy."

He paused, then added, "But looking is all you can do for now."

What on earth was going through that bastard's mind?

I scowled at him. "Steven, have some decency, will you?"

His eyes crinkled as he broke into a reckless grin.
