I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 750

After I agreed, Mrs. Spencer's expression visibly relaxed.

Perhaps feeling a bit awkward, she started making small talk about things at home.

We were chatting amiably when suddenly, a white handbag was slammed onto our table, interrupting the conversation.

Rachel stood there, fuming, looking down at me. "Zephyra, you're already pregnant with Steven's child. Why are you still bothering Horace? Can't you just leave him alone?"

"Hasn't he suffered enough because of you? Do you even have a heart? If it weren't for you, would he be lying in a hospital right now?"

I frowned deeply. Horace had been injured saving me before, but this time, it really had nothing to do with me.

I tried to explain, "Rachel, you need to stick to the facts. I'm heartbroken that Horace is hurt, but this has nothing to do with me."

Hearing this, Mrs. Spencer also stood up to explain. "Rachel, this has nothing to do with Zephyra. I was the one who asked to meet her."

But Rachel seemed to have lost her mind, glaring at me venomously. "Zephyra, don't think I don't know! Horace's leg was ruined because of you before. You owe him a debt you can never repay! It should have been you who got hurt, not him!"

"I originally thought you were tricked by Steven into being with him. But now I see you're both just partners in crime. Steven is trash, and so are you!"

Her words hit me like a plunge into icy water.

"Rachel, I've tolerated you time and again for Zephyra's sake, but I never thought you'd dare to lay a hand on her. It seems you've got a death wish!" Steven's words were filled with menace.

Rachel's face was pale with pain. She stared at Steven in disbelief. "Steven, you bastard! Let me go!"

But Steven showed no intention of letting go. Instead, his grip on her wrist tightened.

Tears welled up in Rachel's eyes from the pain. She struggled continuously, but she couldn't break free from Steven's grasp.

Watching this unfold, I was filled with mixed emotions.
