I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 821

Gordon bowed his head slightly. “Ma’am, I’m ninety-five percent sure it was Horace.”

I was speechless.

It seemed Gordon was only sparing my feelings by not saying one hundred percent.

I instinctively glanced at Steven, whose cold expression had turned even darker. If Horace were here, I had no doubt Steven would lunge at him and beat him to death.

Horace had deliberately provoked him, and knowing Steven’s temper, he wouldn’t let it slide.

Gordon turned to Steven. “Mr. Lancaster, how do you wish to handle this?”

Steven’s face was grim. “An eye for an eye. We’ll do to him exactly what he did to us.”

His voice was calm and cruel, sending a chill down my spine.

It took me a moment to realize what he meant…

Even though I knew Horace was in the wrong and Steven’s retaliation was justified, I couldn’t just stand by and watch it happen.

I would repay this last debt to him, and then we would owe each other nothing.

I took a deep breath and called out, “Steven.”

Steven’s expression shifted, his eyes filled with surprise, as if he never expected me to call him so intimately.

A hint of joy touched his features as he repeated, uncertain, “What did you just call me?”

Under Steven’s intense gaze, I hesitated for a moment before speaking. “Steven, can we just let this go?”

The smile on his face vanished instantly, his eyes growing cold. “You only called me that because of him.”
