Chapter 521 How Adorable Nina Was

Tanner didn’t even know what to say anymore.

He watched Nina reach out to grab a fish, but the fish darted away just in time, narrowly escaping her grasp.

The fish flicked its tail hard as it swam off.

Nina and Tanner, both squatting by the pool, got splashed straight in the face.

The water in this pool was far from clean.

Tanner wasn’t overly fussy about cleanliness, but getting doused in grimy pool water still made him feel very uncomfortable.

Nina’s little face was soaked, and the sleeves of her top were completely wet through, too.

Tanner was totally at a loss about what to do. “Come on, let’s go clean up. You need to use the restroom anyway.”

Covered in water himself, Tanner picked Nina up without hesitation and carried her to the restroom in the

restaurant.

He stepped inside with her, washed her tiny hands and face, then changed her into a new top entirely.

Her sleeves had gotten way too soaked to leave as they were.

Nina took to being looked after by Tanner perfectly fine.

She nearly started messing around and playing in the water again while he cleaned her up.

Tanner hurried to get her all sorted out, then led her back out to the dining area.

He asked, “Alright, be good now. Are you hungry? You must be starving by now.”

Nina had been running around nonstop this whole time and burned plenty of energy.

Tanner patted her little tummy; it wasn’t nearly as round and full as it had been earlier.

He lifted her up in his arms and carried her straight over to the dining table. “Let’s sit down and eat.”

One dish was already served on the table: creamy baked egg with minced beef,

Tanner grabbed a clean plate and scooped several big helpings of the dish onto it.

He planned to feed Nina first.

Tanner just wanted to get this over with quickly-feed her and send her back soon.

He’d been babysitting her all day, and he was pretty much done with this task.

But he’d seriously underestimated how hard feeding Nina would be.

She refused to sit in the high chair, and even on the regular bench, she fidgeted nonstop and kept trying to climb down.

It took Tanner several minutes just to get one bite into her mouth.

Nina was a picky eater, and she didn’t like the creamy baked egg with minced beef.

Tanner had ordered a few side snacks for her when he placed their meal order earlier.

Before long, a plate of French fries arrived at the table, too.

Tanner grabbed another plate, paired the fries with the newly served honey-glazed pork ribs, and got ready to feed her again.

He spoon-fed her bites of the ribs while letting her pick up fries to eat on her own.

Nina had no idea she should dip her fries in sauce.

Tanner reminded her gently, “Nina, dip it in the sauce before you eat.”

Nina blinked blankly, then pushed herself up to stand from the bench.

Tanner stared at her, caught off guard. “Don’t stand up like that. Sit back down.”

He dipped a fry in ketchup for her himself. Nina loved the taste of ketchup and munched away happily.

After finishing a few fries, she was already squirming to get down and wander around again.

Tanner simply couldn’t keep her settled any longer, so he pulled out his phone and made a video call to Lucille. “Look, Nina-it’s a video call.”

He grabbed a phone stand, set it up, and placed the phone right in front of Nina.

The second the call connected, Nina saw Lucille’s smiling face on the screen and broke into a grin of her

own.

“Auntie Lucywee,” Nina called out to her in a soft, sweet voice.

Lucille used to get shy right away when Nina talked to her like this.

Now she’d gotten completely used to it and wasn’t bashful anymore.

Her eyes bright as she said to Nina, “Hey, Nina, what are you doing?”

Nina piped up, “Eat foo-die.”

She mumbled the simple words, yet she didn’t swallow the food in her mouth at all.

Tanner-always the poised, refined gentleman-sat there holding a spoon, giving nonstop instructions just like a full-time dad.

He said, “Nina, swallow the food in your mouth.

“Take big bites now.
