With a bold flick of her chubby little hand, Nina demanded that her dad buy her something to eat.
Benjamin, eyeing the street stalls, wasn’t keen on any of them.
They just seemed unhygienic to him.
“Let’s have a look around some more,” he said, trying to fob off Nina as he led her along.
As they walked, just when Nina was on the verge of throwing a tantrum, a commotion caught her attention.
Nina was a real nosy parker!
As she heard the argument, her eyes lit up. She wriggled free of Benjamin’s hand and scurried towards the ruckus.
Being small, she easily squeezed her way to the front of the crowd.
Some onlookers were whispering and gossiping.
“Poor girl, just trying to sell her pastries. That new BBQ guy is such a bully! He took over her spot and even got physical. It’s just outrageous,” one person muttered.
“Tell me about it. He’s been picking on her ever since he showed up three days ago,” another person agreed.
Amid the chatter, Nina spotted a young woman sitting on the ground.
She was wearing a simple white T-shirt and a mask, her eyes welling up with tears as she signed furiously.
Nina knew a bit of sign language.
Her mom had learned it for a role as a mute and had taught Nina a little.
Once she recognized the signs, Nina got really mad!
This lady couldn’t speak; she was already at a disadvantage, and now she was being bullied!
All fired up, Nina marched over.
First, she planted herself protectively in front of the woman.
Then, hands on her hips, she declared in her baby-voice, “You… in… trouble!”
The BBQ vendor burst out laughing at the tiny threat.
“Kid, you’re barely out of diapers and you’re trying to be a hero? You want me to toss your sippy cup and show you how the real world works?” he jeered.
Nina wasn’t going to back down.
She grabbed a pipe from the ground and swung it at the man.

Chapter 54 Alice Harrison
The man was caught off guard. He never expected this little girl to fight back.
So, he took the hit square on.
His face turned white with pain.
“You little runt, how dare you!” he roared, raising his foot to kick Nina.
But before his foot could reach her, Benjamin’s fist came out of nowhere,
Benjamin was no weakling.
He’d trained with a top-notch mercenary since he was a kid.
That punch sent the man sprawling.
With a thud, the man hit the ground, clutching his stomach.
He curled up like a wounded animal and was no longer the tough guy.
Benjamin didn’t even give him a second look. He just looked down at his little girl.
Nina, who’d been a bit stand-offish before, was now looking at him with stars in her eyes.
“Wow!” she gasped, all excited and full of admiration.
For the first time, she praised Benjamin, “Daddy… allsome!”

Benjamin’s eyelids fluttered nervously. Before he could stop himself, he blurted out, “Don’t copy me.”
But it was too late. Nina had already started eyeing her chubby little fist, as if sizing it up for a fight.
Benjamin’s eyelids twitched even more violently.
Thankfully, after only a few seconds of studying her fist, Nina snapped back to reality and remembered what she was supposed to do.
She scurried back over to the woman lying on the ground and reached out to help her up.
“No scare. Nina good! Nina hit bad guy!”
Despite Nina’s efforts, the woman struggled to get up.
When she finally managed to stand, a stream of blood trickled out of her loose linen capri pants and ran down her ankle.
Nina gasped in horror.
“Ouch! Hurt!” she exclaimed, pointing at the woman’s leg.
Alice Harrison, who was wearing a mask, didn’t seem too worried about the bleeding.
She signed a quick thank-you to Nina.
