Miracle Cutie (Amelia and Benjamin) novel Chapter 55

Chapter 55 Never Brought Any Girl Home

As Nina teetered on the verge of tears, Benjamin found himself weighing, Amelia’s wonder

Amelia had said that no child ever cried themselves into death.

Yet here was Nina, sniveling and clutching at his leg her voice choked with soha as she pleaded. Daddy. pleaze… tak her home… Doctor.”

Her forlorn expression was simply heart-wrenching

Benjamin was well aware that Nina’s cherubic face masked a mischievous spirit

He’d always managed to keep a level head around her, observing her antics with a blend of amazed and

reason.

“Daddy, Daddy… Pleaze, pleaze! She’s sad!” Nina wailed, her words tumbling out in a jumbled mess

Benjamin let out a silent sigh.

For a fleeting moment, he cast aside his rationality. With a stoic expression, he scooped Nina up into his

arms.

“Shh, stop crying.” he murmured.

And then, as if by magic, he uttered the words that made Nina’s sobs cease in an instant

“I’ll invite her home.”

Without further ado, Benjamin pulled out his phone, fired off a few texts, and then introduced himself to Alice.

He said, “I mean no harm. I’ve already called the cops. Once you’ve met them and verified my identity, you can come back with me to get that wound looked at

Truth be told, Benjamin’s reassurance was hardly necessary.

Alice could tell from the get-go that this handsome man had been nothing but aloof toward her.

He hadn’t even given her a second glance.

Had it not been for Nina’s intervention, he probably would’ve walked right on by.

This realization, oddly enough, put Alice at ease.

Meeting Nina’s hopeful gaze, Alice gave a gentle nod.

Nina’s face lit up like a Christmas tree at the sight.

Before long, Lucas arrived, looking like a kicked puppy.

As he sidled up to Benjamin, he muttered under his breath, barely audible, ‘Benjamin, you really didn’t have to rope me into this. You could’ve just called 911!”

Finished

Lucas had been gearing up for a relaxing night off, but one text from Benjamin had him scrambling to change into his police uniform and head out on the job.

Like Daniel, Lucas had spent his childhood under Benjamin’s shadow.

The Morris family was notorious for spoiling their kids, especially Lucas’ mother, Maria Morris, who was a master at coddling.

Lucas had been a wild child back then, running amok with no one able to rein him in.

Lucas’ grandfather, Vincent Morris, though equally fond of children, knew something had to give. So, with a heavy heart, he called in Benjamin as a last resort.

One fateful day, when Lucas had misbehaved yet again and his parents couldn’t bear to discipline him, Benjamin showed up, his face as cold as ice.

Lucas’ howls echoed through the house for the entire afternoon!

From that day forward, every time Lucas stirred up trouble, Benjamin would make an appearance.

There was even an incident where Lucas and Daniel tried to stage a rebellion, only to find themselves shipped off to a desolate wilderness for a survival test.

After years of being “bossed around” by Benjamin, Lucas wouldn’t dream of disobeying his commands.

After his little gripe, Lucas got down to business.

He hauled the on-the-ground guy away.

As for Benjamin, his actions were clearly an act of heroism, so he was in the clear.

Alice received some compensation and then climbed into the car bound for the Graham Residence.

During the car journey, Alice never once removed her mask.

It seemed to be stuck to her face like it was welded on.

Nina was super curious about what Alice looked like. But she didn’t reach out to grab the mask.

Amelia had told her, “Don’t take off others’ masks. Only bad kids do that!”

All the way, Nina kept her eyes fixed on Alice. Finally, they reached home.

Back at the house, Daniel was having a chat with Amelia.

Daniel was smiling and saying, “Amelia, look! Benjamin’s awake. I reckon it’s high time you two had a proper love thing going on. He’s totally into you. For ages, there hasn’t been a single woman around him. He barely even looks at other girls. And he’s never brought any girl home before. You’re the only one…”

Just then, before Daniel could finish his sentence, the door opened.

He looked over instinctively and saw Benjamin walking in, carrying Nina and accompanied by a woman.
