No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 501

Claudia watched Peter order food as if he were a thief and knew exactly what was going on.

Peter had spoiled Darleen Ferguson rotten since they were children.

Even though Darleen was a late bloomer and emotionally dense.

Even though Peter complained about her daily and never admitted his feelings.

Claudia and Peter hid in the booth behind Darleen, both hunched over and eavesdropping.

Darleen was wearing a simple yet striking orange dress suit, looking both bright and bold.

Her blind date, Kevin Shaw, was dressed in a white casual suit over a deep V-neck, flashy pink shirt. He had styled, dyed short hair, a sapphire stud in one ear, a collarbone chain, and a pinky ring. He lounged in his seat with a lazy smile, his whole demeanor screaming that he couldn't care less.

The two sized each other up. Darleen got straight to the point. "To be honest, I'm only here because my family forced me."

Kevin gave a roguish grin. "What a coincidence. I'm only here because my dad chased me out of the house with a stick."

Darleen: "I'm not getting married, and I'm not having kids. Ever."

Kevin: "I hate kids. Can't stand them. So not having any is perfect."

Darleen took a deep breath. "I'm never going to work a day in my life, and my monthly allowance can't be less than five hundred thousand dollars."

Kevin patted his chest. "I may not have many virtues, but being willing to spend money on a woman is one of them."

Darleen slammed her hand on the table. "Also, I—"

Kevin cut her off. "Forget 'also.' Just tell me how many lines you prepared before you came. Hand over the script, and I'll read them for you."

Darleen slowly sat back down.

"Kevin," she said, "I'm a parasite. Whoever marries me will drag their family down. We were classmates. I can't do that to you, of all people."

Kevin couldn't help but laugh.

As his laughter subsided, he suddenly asked, "Your grandfather has paraded every eligible bachelor from the top families in front of you, just waiting for you to pick one. Everyone says you haven't taken a liking to any of them. Others might believe that, but I don't."

Darleen's head was spinning. "Kevin, it's not that I don't like them. I genuinely don't want to get married."

Her grandfather and father were waiting for her report. This playboy in front of her was sharp; she could only placate him, not offend him.
