With a polite but terrifying wave of their guns, the cartel enforcers ushered the gawking onlookers away from the store. Then, at a subtle nod from the bald man, two enforcers walked over to the display cases filled with million-dollar jewelry and pulled out heavy tactical hammers.
Crash! Smash!!!
The reinforced glass shattered under the brutal impact, sending sparkling diamonds and gemstones raining across the floor, catching the light in a chaotic spray of luxury.
But they didn't stop there. They methodically smashed every display case and tore apart the store's interior. In a matter of minutes, the high-end boutique was reduced to absolute rubble.
The two previously arrogant clerks collapsed to the floor, too terrified to even scream as the destruction unfolded around them. Trembling uncontrollably, they crawled toward the counter. "W-We don't know what we did to upset him!"
The bald man sneered, switching to the local dialect. "The Boss is from Harmony Country. Care to guess how he's related to these two women?"
One of the enforcers chimed in, "One is his sister. The other is his girlfriend."
A wicked, sadistic smile spread across the bald man's face as he raised his hand. "Clear out the dressing room. Have the boys take these two in for a thorough inspection. We need to make absolutely sure they aren't hiding a missing ring. And if we don't find it..."
He paused, his tone laced with a playful, vicious menace. "It must be hidden up their skirts. Make sure to check everywhere."
The very trap the clerks had set for Loyce and Giselle was now snapping shut on them. They finally realized they had messed with people who were entirely untouchable.
Shaking violently, the first clerk frantically dug into her pocket, yanking out the ring. "I'm sorry! We're so sorry!" she shrieked in English, sobbing uncontrollably. "Please forgive us! We shouldn't have judged you! Please, beg him to let us go!"
Loyce stared down at the two pathetic figures groveling at her feet, then shot a glance at the police officers, who looked like they were trying to meld into the walls. She nodded at the bald man. "That's enough. Let's go."
The bald man raised his hand, and the destruction ceased instantly. He respectfully opened the car door for Loyce and Giselle.
The convoy of black SUVs sped off as quickly as they had arrived, leaving behind a floor covered in crushed jewelry and two saleswomen sobbing uncontrollably.
In this part of the world, there was absolutely nothing the police could do against the Costa family. They simply holstered their weapons and gave the clerks a look of profound pity before leaving them to their fate.
