Tammie took the paper from Victoria. When he saw what it was, his eyes widened. "This is the architectural blueprint for the project we're preparing? How did you get this?"
"I found it at the auction hall."
Tammie frowned, half-believing her, and turned to Elias for confirmation.
Elias gave a slight nod.
Tammie finally relaxed. This was a confidential document. If it had been widely leaked, it would have resulted in significant losses.
"Thank you, Miss Sanger," he said gratefully. "What would you like in return? Of course, if you're still thinking about a partnership, I'm sorry, but I really can't agree to that."
"Even if it wasn't me, someone else would have found it and returned it to you, so you don't need to worry about it. I don't expect anything in return," Victoria said frankly.
At her words, a look of admiration appeared in Tammie's eyes.
"Mr. James," Victoria continued, "actually… besides returning this blueprint, there's something else I need to tell you."
Tammie looked puzzled. "Tell me?"
She nodded. "The design in this blueprint has a major flaw. It could potentially lead to a serious structural failure."
"How is that possible?!" Tammie exclaimed in disbelief, his immediate reaction one of denial. "This blueprint was created by the senior architect we've worked with for years. There's no way there could be a problem. Miss Sanger, you must have misunderstood something."
Victoria had anticipated Tammie's reaction.
Even projects under The Sanger Group had dedicated design teams with extremely high professional standards. The James family, with its considerable global influence, would have standards for its construction projects that were many times stricter than The Sanger Group's.
So she understood why he was so certain there couldn't be a mistake.
But a mistake was a mistake.
As long as it was corrected, everything could be salvaged.
"Mr. James, may I speak with the designer of this blueprint?" Victoria asked.
Tammie looked at the seriousness in her eyes and fell into thought.
After a long moment, he nodded. He dialed the designer's number, explained the situation, then put the phone on speaker and handed it to her.
Victoria took the phone and stated her credentials. "Hello, my name is Victoria. I'm currently an architect at the Veridian Aurelian Central Design Institute."
