The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 151

During the day, she kept up with project deadlines and occasionally checked on the progress of the design competition. At night, she'd go home, play with her cat, and look at the travel photos Cerys Thorne sent her. Time passed quickly.

In the blink of an eye, the first day of winter arrived.

Inside the Design Institute's Group Three office, a male colleague walked in carrying coffee. "Ladies, come and get it! One for each of you. First coffee of the season!"

Sunny Lewis immediately jumped up and squeezed into the crowd, returning to her desk with two cups. She placed one in front of Victoria Sanger.

"Victoria, stop staring at those blueprints. Have something warm to drink," Sunny said, then stood by the window, watching the trees sway violently in the wind. "I don't know what's up with this year. The first snow should have fallen by now."

Victoria took a sip of her coffee. "If the first snow is late, it means the winter won't be too cold. That's a good thing."

"You grew up in The Imperial Capital, so you must be used to snow," Sunny said, turning back with a smile. "Unlike me. It doesn't snow where I'm from. I'd never even seen it before I moved here for work. I still can't get enough of it."

"Which one of you is Victoria?" a man's voice called from the office entrance.

Before she could even see who it was, Victoria answered, "That's me."

A delivery driver in a blue uniform walked in carrying a massive bouquet of flowers. He placed it in front of Victoria and held out a receipt. "Miss Sanger, these are for you. Please sign here to confirm."

Victoria was stunned for a moment before signing her name.

"Wow! That's a huge bouquet of pink roses!" Sunny's eyes widened as she examined the flowers. The bouquet was so large it took up almost all the remaining space on Victoria's desk, filling the air with a rich but not overpowering fragrance.

Other colleagues started gathering around.

"These must have been expensive! Victoria, who sent them?"

"Victoria is beautiful and single. It has to be from an admirer!"

"No way. None of her other admirers have ever sent flowers. For someone to send a bouquet this big right off the bat, something's definitely going on! Victoria, be honest, are you secretly dating someone behind our backs?"

She was speechless.

The questions came one after another, nearly drowning Victoria.

She snapped back to reality and looked for the delivery driver to ask who the sender was, but he was already gone.

"Hey, how is she supposed to answer so many questions at once!" Sunny, seeing Victoria's dazed expression, stepped in to disperse her colleagues. "Are your drawings done? Have you visited the construction sites? Go on, get back to work!"

"Sunny, you really know how to hit where it hurts!" a colleague said, pointing at her through gritted teeth.

Sunny just hummed, feeling no guilt for calling them out. "Stop crowding around," she urged. "Or when Director Donald comes out, you'll all be in for it."

Felice Donald was usually kind and easygoing, but she was uncompromising when it came to work.

The mention of Felice sent a jolt through the group. Their desire to gossip vanished, and they all returned to their desks to work on their blueprints.

Sunny pulled her chair over to Victoria's desk, holding her coffee. "Victoria, what are you thinking about? Wondering who sent the flowers?"

"No, I was thinking…" Victoria started, then sneezed. "...about how to get rid of them."
