The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 294

A short while later, the wound on Genevieve’s wrist was stitched and bandaged once more.

The doctor glanced at Elias before stepping out of the room.

Elias caught the doctor’s look and started to get up to follow, but Genevieve, like a frightened bird, reached out to grab his hand.

He subtly moved to avoid her touch. “I’ll just be outside. I’ll be right back.”

“Elias…”

“Hawk, watch her.” Elias’s gaze shifted away from Genevieve. After giving the cold command, he walked out of the room without a backward glance.

Genevieve sat propped up against the headboard, biting her lower lip hard. The hand that had failed to grab Elias remained frozen in mid-air.

Her fingers curled into a fist, her nails digging into her palm as a vicious glint flashed in her eyes.

Outside the room.

The doctor waited for a moment. Seeing Elias emerge, he stepped forward. “Mr. Shawn.”

Elias nodded.

The doctor hesitated before speaking. “Mr. Shawn, I’m sure you’ve noticed that Ms. Vale’s condition is not very stable. If she experiences another major emotional fluctuation, she might resort to more extreme actions.”

“What are you trying to say? Just say it.”

“Ms. Vale is very dependent on you,” the doctor said after a pause. “I know this might be an imposition, but when a patient with depression relapses, their condition becomes more severe than before, and their suicidal tendencies are easily triggered. For the sake of the patient’s stability, I ask that you, Mr. Shawn, try to stay by Ms. Vale’s side as much as possible, avoid agitating her further, and do your best to soothe her emotions.”

Elias’s expression was grim. He said nothing.

The doctor added, “We will conduct an evaluation of Ms. Vale as soon as possible and formulate the most suitable treatment plan.”

“How long will it take to create a treatment plan?”

“A week.”

Elias’s lips formed a straight line. After a few seconds of silence, he asked, “Are you saying I can’t leave her sight for the next seven days?”

“If possible, yes. Ms. Vale’s condition is highly unstable. We’re worried she might do something like she did just now…”

The doctor trailed off, but they both knew what he meant.

Genevieve was self-harming.

After a long moment, Elias said in a low voice, “I understand.”
