The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 304

Elias frowned and fell silent.

Genevieve blinked, and a large teardrop rolled down her cheek. "Elias, don't get me wrong. I… I was just so scared. Hawk said Henry escaped, and I'm afraid he'll come back for me. I didn't mean anything else by it."

"You don't have to worry about that, Gen. Hawk will post guards outside your room. Henry won't dare to come near you again," Elias said in a deep, measured tone, showing no intention of changing his mind.

Genevieve bit her lower lip, her knuckles turning white as she clutched the blanket, wanting to say more.

However, Elias didn't give her the chance. His voice was firm and decisive. "Gen, I really do have something important to take care of."

With that, he turned to leave.

"When you say something important, do you mean you're going to see Victoria?" Genevieve suddenly asked, her voice raspy.

Elias froze.

Genevieve took a deep breath, threw back the covers, and used the bed's handrail to stand up.

Elias noticed the gauze on her wrist was stained with fresh spots of red; her wound had clearly reopened. He instinctively assumed she had hurt herself again and frowned. "Gen, you promised you wouldn't hurt yourself anymore."

"...If I said I didn't, would you even believe me?" Genevieve asked back, her voice fragile.

Elias’s lips tightened into a thin line, and he didn't answer.

Her eyelashes trembled. With a bitter smile, she held out her hand and opened her palm.

A crudely made bracelet lay there. Elias’s eyes darkened for a moment before he looked up at her, confused.

Genevieve forced a smile. "Elias, do you remember the promise you made me?"

Elias was silent for a few seconds before answering, "I remember. So, have you decided what you want?"

Genevieve nodded, clutching the bracelet again, letting the sharp edges of the charm dig into her palm. "I… I want you to stay here with me."

As if afraid he would refuse, she quickly added, "It won't be for long. Just until I fall asleep. Once I'm asleep, you can go see Victoria, okay?"

Elias clearly hadn't expected this to be her request.

He had promised her that whenever she presented this bracelet, he would grant any one request she made, along with giving her an additional three percent of The Shawn Group's shares.

But five years had passed, and she hadn't used it, not even when the Vale family forced her to marry Henry.
