The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 344

Victoria was stunned.

By the time she realized what had happened, she was already pinned to the sofa. The man’s body loomed over her, his arms braced on either side of her head.

“Elias, you… let me go.”

Victoria instinctively struggled to push him away, but one of her wrists was held fast in his right hand, pressed against her chest, rendering her powerless.

They were dangerously close.

Victoria could clearly feel his breath, tinged with alcohol, ghosting over her eyelashes. The faint heat sent the ripples in her heart, already stirred by memory, into a chaotic rhythm.

But Elias seemed not to hear her. His gaze locked onto hers, as if trying to see into her very soul.

After that night when he could only watch as Tobias carried her into the break room, he hadn't sought her out for days. He had Hawk pack his schedule to the brim. When there were no more appointments, he drank with Jonah at The Cloudscape, not allowing himself a moment of rest.

He had thought that once Garnett’s condition stabilized, Victoria would come to him. After all, his hand was injured because of her. But she hadn't. She stayed by Grady and Garnett’s side for three whole days without sending him a single text. She hadn't thought of him at all!

And she let Tobias hang around her all day.

When Hawk reported to him, it was always that she and Tobias were going to the doctor's office to discuss Garnett’s condition, or that they were eating together in the cafeteria.

A single man and a single woman, spending all their time together…

Lucian didn't press further. He just glanced at him, raised his glass to clink with his, and then downed the red wine in one go.

Elias gripped his own wine glass. The image of Victoria sleeping peacefully in Tobias's arms flashed through his mind. His grip tightened unconsciously. With a crisp crack, the stem of the wine glass snapped in two.

In the end, he called Hawk and rescinded the order to move against the Holt Group.

His thoughts returned to the present. Elias’s dark eyes dropped to Victoria’s tightly pressed pink lips. His gaze darkened, his throat bobbed, and he slowly lowered his head.

Victoria’s eyelashes trembled. Her whole body tensed. Even her voice became strained. “Elias!”

Just as his lips were about to touch hers, Victoria squeezed her eyes shut and turned her head away.
