The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 369

Like a child begging for candy, Garnett had wheedled and pleaded with the photographer for the unedited photo files.

After the shoot, he quickly changed back into his hospital gown. Propped up against the headboard, he held a tablet carefully in both hands, his eyes glued to the screen as he flipped through each photo one by one.

Seeing this, Victoria poured a glass of warm water, walked over to his side, and simply took the tablet from him. “Dad, you’ve been looking at these for half an hour. You need to rest.”

“Oh, come on, there are only a few left. Just let me finish, and I’ll lie down right away.”

“No.”

“Victoria, you’re becoming more and more like your mother. You won’t let me do this, you won’t let me do that,” Garnett grumbled, deliberately turning his head away, though a fond smile played on his lips.

Victoria looked at her childish father and couldn’t help but laugh. “Dad, the doctor said you need to conserve your energy and get as much rest as possible before the surgery.”

Garnett shot her a sidelong glance, then held up one finger to bargain. “Last one. Just a quick look.”

“Really the last one?”

Garnett nodded eagerly.

Victoria couldn’t refuse him—or more accurately, her heart was too soft. She handed the tablet back.

Garnett impatiently swiped the screen, his eyes suddenly lighting up. “Victoria, look! This photo turned out really well.”

Victoria followed his gaze.

It was the formal couples’ photo of her and Elias. Against the red background, their white outfits created a stark contrast.

In the photo, they were standing very close, neither of them smiling, looking straight at the camera with a serious expression. It looked just like a marriage certificate photo.

—“96. Take a new formal couples’ photo with Elias.”

Victoria remembered the wish she had once written in her notebook, and her lips pressed into a thin line.

When they got their marriage license two years ago, their couples’ photo had been photoshopped together. Because it was a composite of two separate solo pictures, it looked awkward and mismatched no matter how it was adjusted.

Just like their marriage—ultimately a product of Garnett cashing in on a favor and her own unrequited feelings.

She had written that wish back then, hoping that one day she could remedy that regret.

How ironic.

A regret she hadn’t been able to fix in two years of marriage was now fulfilled after their divorce.

“Alright, you’ve seen your last picture.” Victoria quickly suppressed the turmoil in her heart and took the tablet from Garnett again. Before he could say anything, she turned and walked briskly out of the room.

The moment she stepped out of the hospital room, Victoria’s eyes fell on the red-backed couples’ photo on the tablet, and she pressed the permanent delete button.

A confirmation box popped up in the center of the screen.
