The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 379

The fifteen minutes passed quickly.

Abbey didn’t have time to think it through. In the end, she could only offer a few uncertain numbers, including her own birthday, the date she and Grady first met…

Victoria jotted each one down. As soon as she got back to her car, she opened the attachment and began trying the passwords.

When the last string of digits she entered brought up a “Password incorrect” prompt, she felt it was both expected and yet somewhat surprising.

Victoria had truly thought Abbey would know the password.

But now it seemed clear that Grady had never mentioned it to her.

So what did the message “Go find Abbey” really mean?

Victoria’s thin lips pressed into a tight line as her mind raced, considering every possibility.

Meanwhile.

After the meeting ended, Abbey was escorted back to her cell by a guard.

She sat on the edge of the bed, head bowed in silence. Once the guard closed the door and left, she carefully pulled the printed email screenshot from her sleeve, her eyes stinging.

Grady’s message in the email meant that, even at the very end, he still trusted her. He had chosen to leave something so important with her.

And she… she had destroyed everything for him.

Plink.

Tears welled up and spilled over, dripping onto the paper and instantly smudging the ink. The memories of her time with Grady surged toward her like a bursting dam, threatening to drown her.

She cried for what felt like an eternity, until all her strength was gone. Curled up on the bed, she finally fell into a deep sleep.

She had a dream.

She dreamed of the day she first met Grady.

Just then, the manager got an order for drinks for a private room. After looking around and finding no one else available, he had no choice but to give the task to Abbey.

“The people in this room are the bar’s biggest spenders. If I wasn’t desperate, I’d never send a rookie like you to serve them.”

“When you go in, be quick and smart about it. Drop off the drinks and get out right away. Don’t offend anyone.”

Abbey nodded in understanding and quickly picked up two cases of beer to take to the designated room.

She pushed open the door to the room and was met with a swirl of colorful, chaotic lights and the deafening throb of a DJ, the air thick with the smell of alcohol.

On the semi-circular black leather sofa, seven or eight playboys were lounging with women on their arms, surrounded by clouds of smoke.

Remembering the manager’s warning, Abbey didn’t dare look up. She kept her head down and walked in quickly, setting the beer down and turning to leave.

Suddenly, a young man sitting near the door saw her. He propped one long leg on the table, blocking her path. He took a drag from his cigarette and smirked.

“Hey, what’s the rush? Don’t you want a tip?”
