The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 383

Caught off guard, Grady instinctively caught Abbey. Just then, a spotlight passed over them, and he finally noticed the unnatural flush on her face.

“You…”

The moment she was close to Grady, Abbey felt a refreshing coolness. Her thoughts grew chaotic, and she murmured, “I’m so hot… I feel so sick…”

Grady was no inexperienced young man. He could tell at a glance that Abbey had been drugged.

He frowned.

Druggings in clubs were all too common, and Grady wasn’t one to meddle in other people's business. He was about to push Abbey away and leave.

But unexpectedly, Abbey wrapped her arms around his neck, stood on her toes, and kissed him without a word.

The woman’s faint, sweet scent filled his nostrils.

Grady froze, momentarily forgetting to react.

Abbey’s kiss was clumsy and stumbling, her teeth occasionally bumping against his lips, causing a sharp sting.

But for some reason, Grady didn't hate it.

Grady felt his reason being slowly eroded. Forcing down the stirring in his chest, he pulled Abbey away, his voice deep and heavy. “Do you have any idea what you’re doing?”

Abbey felt as if she were in a sea of fire. Her vision swam, and hearing Grady’s question, she looked up at him, bewildered.

“If you don’t know, then don’t do something you’ll regret.” Grady let her go, draped his jacket over her shoulders, and turned to leave.

Abbey stood under the air conditioning vent.

Whether it was the kiss that had lessened the drug's effect or the cold air blasting down on her, her thoughts briefly cleared.

She wasn’t stupid. This sudden, intense heat was clearly not normal.

Abbey pursed her lips, her gaze falling on a business card on the floor that must have fallen from Grady's jacket.

On the black and gold card, the name 'Grady' was printed in bold.

Grady…

Victoria…

However, Grady showed no reaction. Abbey sighed in relief, though her heart sank.

Right, Abbey, what are you afraid of? It was just a one-night stand. Why would you think Grady would even remember you?

Soon, the elevator reached her floor.

Head down, she carefully walked past Grady, about to step out.

Suddenly, her wrist was seized.

An instant later, a powerful force pulled her back into the elevator. Her back slammed against the wall as an oppressive shadow fell over her. The man picked up the ID badge she was wearing, his voice cold and heavy.

“So, your name is Abbey.”

“Abbey. Over three years. 1227 days. You’ve been a hard person to find.”

1227 days…

A flash of white went through Abbey's mind. A realization hit her. She shot up from the bed and started banging on the door, shouting, “I need to see my lawyer! I have something very important to tell him!”
