“You...” Sebastian shot to his feet, glaring at Catherine.
“Sebastian, Catherine has totally crossed the line...” Sally chimed in, her voice sharp and eager.
Catherine cut her off. “Quit stirring the pot. You’re even more clueless than he is. Adelina’s just using you, and if you’re not careful, the whole Lee family is going to get dragged down with you.”
The private room was tense. Two faces flushed, eyes wide with anger and embarrassment. Catherine looked calm on the surface, but you could tell she was holding back.
With nothing left to say, Catherine turned, walked out, grabbed her bag from her own table, and headed for the door.
Letty hurried after her. On the way out, she sneaked a look into the other room, catching a glimpse of the two still fuming inside.
“Catherine, what did you just do?” Letty jogged to catch up, bouncing with curiosity. “Were you supposed to go in there? Did you see something you shouldn’t have?”
Catherine sighed. “Honestly? I shouldn’t have come at all today.”
If Sally hadn’t been adding fuel to the fire, maybe Catherine could’ve kept her cool and tried to talk some sense into Sebastian. Sure, the odds of getting through to him weren’t great, but it wasn’t impossible. Now, she’d just managed to upset everyone.
Letty’s eyes went wide. “Wait, isn’t Sally pregnant? Sebastian’s into that? Why didn’t they just get a hotel room instead of... what, hooking up in a restaurant? What did you see? How far did they go? Was it more than kissing or holding hands? Did you catch them, like, undressing?”
Catherine stopped walking and turned around. “What are you talking about?”
Letty raised her eyebrows, making a V with her fingers. “You know, just the two of them, all red-faced and secretive... didn’t you catch them in the act?”
Catherine frowned. “It’s not what you think. It’s complicated, and I don’t have time to explain. I’ve got things to handle. You should just go home.”
