The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 864

Stop pretending.

He told her to stop pretending.

Lilly’s cheeks turned pink. Here he was, a grown man, parked right outside her building in the middle of the night, asking her to come down. Anyone with half a brain could guess what he wanted.

She wasn’t some naive girl. Three years ago, she’d already been with him.

Lilly bit her lip and sent him a message. “Mr. Farill, I’m tired. I’m going to bed.”

Jason was sitting alone in his luxury car, his long fingers turning her reply over and over on his phone.

She said she was tired.

Jason let out a low laugh, lips curling with a hint of mischief.

“Lilly, are you trying to back out of our deal?”

Lilly jumped into bed, yanking the blanket up to her chin. Was he accusing her of trying to escape?

She thought it over, then typed, “Mr. Farill, I did promise to thank you, but I never said when!”

After she sent that message, Jason didn’t reply.

Lilly lay in bed, eyes squeezed shut, telling herself to sleep. But she just kept tossing and turning. No matter how many times she checked her phone, there were no new messages from Jason.

Her phone was completely silent.

Still, something felt off. Like something was missing.

She climbed out of bed, went to the window, and peeked outside. Jason’s car was still parked right where it had been. He hadn’t left.

Lilly checked the time. It was already eleven.

Was he really planning to stay out there all night?

Jason sat in his car, not wanting to leave. Even if he went back to the office, he knew he wouldn’t be able to focus. All he could think about right now was Lilly.
