Lola’s face lit up. “Really? Can I?”
“Of course you can,” Lilly replied, grinning. “Don’t you want to have a sleepover with your godmom?”
Lola nodded fast. “I do!”
Ella laughed. “Lilly, is it actually okay for you to take her tonight?”
“It’s no problem at all, Ella. Lola used to sleep over with me all the time,” Lilly said.
“That was in the past.” Ella glanced at Jason. “Things are different now. You’re with Mr. Farill. I’m not sure if it’s convenient for him.”
Jason smiled. “It’s totally fine. I love having Lola around.”
Lola squealed and clapped. “Yay! I get to stay with godmom tonight!”
Ella didn’t have the heart to ruin her daughter’s excitement. She smiled. “Alright, Lilly, I’ll leave Lola with you. I need to get going.”
“Lola, say bye to your mom.”
“Bye, Mommy!”
Ella left, and Lilly scooped Lola up, carrying her to Jason’s sleek car. Jason drove while Lilly and Lola shared the back seat.
“Godmom, where are we sleeping tonight?” Lola asked.
“We’ll stay at my villa, sweetheart.”
From the front, Jason said, “Why not come to my place instead?”
Lilly looked up, catching Jason’s gaze in the rearview mirror. He was watching her, waiting for her answer.
Lilly hesitated. “I’m not sure that’s a good idea. Lola’s with me tonight. I want to stay with her.”
Jason glanced at her again. “I like Lola too. I want to spend time with both of you.”
