The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 801

Milford Sherwood had been sitting alone at the bar, nursing a drink and minding his own business. The altercation was completely unprovoked—some random woman had approached him, and when he didn't reciprocate her advances, things had escalated.

But none of that mattered now. If these guys wanted a fight, they were barking up the wrong tree. He had been looking for a way to vent his pent-up frustration anyway. Taking it out on Blondie and his crew sounded like a perfect plan.

The commotion had drawn the attention of the surrounding crowd. The entire club seemed to go still, making the deafening pulse of the bass feel jarringly out of place.

Blondie was clearly someone who threw his weight around in this part of town. Seeing his boss scuffling with Milford, his crew immediately surged forward, forming a tight circle around them.

Milford had Blondie’s wrist locked in a vicious grip, making the man bare his teeth in agony. The goons closed in, ready to strike.

Realizing the situation was spiraling out of control, the woman who had initially hit on Milford stepped in. "Everyone, stand down!" she snapped, glaring at the lackeys.

She shoved her way forward, physically separating Blondie from Milford, and lowered her voice to a furious hiss. "Are you out of your mind? Have you forgotten the rules here? If you start a brawl on Leo's turf, he'll make you pay for it!"

At the mention of 'Leo,' the color drained from the thugs' faces. Their aggressive posturing instantly deflated. Blondie rubbed his reddened wrist, shooting Milford a venomous glare, but he didn't make another move.

The woman turned back to Milford and, surprisingly, offered a crisp apology. "Look, I'm sorry. I saw you sitting here looking handsome and thought I'd shoot my shot. I didn't mean to strike a nerve. That’s on me. But please, calm down. This isn't the place to start a war."
