Felicia gently said, "I will keep you company for breakfast. Daddy has someone to serve him."
Anne held her mother's hand and swung it playfully. "Mommy, go take care of him. Daddy takes care of Mommy, and Mommy takes care of Daddy. Daddy must be very tired from yesterday. Please, Mommy?"
Felicia looked into Anne's pleading eyes.
Children were actually the most sensitive to the relationship between their parents, let alone a smart child like Anne.
"Alright then. I will go upstairs and check on him."
"Yay."
Anne reached out and took Olisha's hand. "Olisha, you can keep me company for breakfast."
Anne pulled Olisha toward the dining room.
Felicia stood there and watched their retreating figures before turning to head upstairs. She stood at the door of the master bedroom, waiting outside without entering.
Half an hour passed.
The man finally emerged from the bedroom. He had changed into a fresh suit, his short hair meticulously styled, exuding an air of noble elegance.
Max looked at the woman standing at the door and asked, "Do you need something?"
Felicia looked at him and replied flatly, "Nothing much. Let's go downstairs for breakfast."
With that said, she turned and walked ahead.
Max watched her back, stepped forward to catch up, and reached out to grasp her hand.
Felicia froze for a moment and looked up at the man beside her.
Max kept his eyes straight ahead. "If you want to put on an act, you should make it convincing."
Felicia lowered her eyes and said nothing.
Anne had finished her breakfast and was watching cartoons in the living room. Seeing her parents coming down hand in hand, a bright smile immediately lit up her little face. She stood up and walked over. "Daddy. Mommy."
Max said, "Are you full, Anne?"
"Yes. Daddy and Mommy, hurry and eat your breakfast. I'll wait for you."
"Okay."
