Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 578

Julian just let out a cold laugh. “There’s really nothing left to say. I don’t believe a single word that comes out of your mouth.”

His words hit Helene straight in the heart. She looked at him, her face full of hurt.

“Am I really that untrustworthy to you?”

Julian’s voice stayed icy. “What do you think?”

She nodded, forcing a bitter smile.

Julian turned and started to leave, but Helene suddenly yelled after him, “What if I told you that Madeline’s mother is the one who killed your father?”

Julian stopped dead in his tracks.

Those words sliced through the air and landed in his ears, each one sharp as glass.

“Madeline’s mother, Shelly, is the one who killed your father all those years ago. That’s why Christian has always tried to keep you and Madeline apart. There’s a blood feud between you, Julian...”

“Enough. Shut up.” Julian’s voice was so harsh it made Helene flinch.

“Julian, what—?”

He turned around, his eyes pitch black and terrifying. “Do you honestly think I’d believe something like that?”

Madeline’s mother killed his father? Please.

So riduculous.

Only someone desperate would come up with such an unbelievable lie.

His father died in a car accident. How would Madeline’s mother have anything to do with that?

Helene swallowed, her voice almost desperate. “I don’t have proof, but Julian, think about it. Christian has always stopped you from being with her. He always hated her. There has to be a reason. This is it. Christian lost his son. Why would he ever let you be with the daughter of the person who took him away?”

She stared at him, hoping he might believe her.

Julian listened in silence, his eyes growing darker by the second. The look on his face made Helene’s heart pound with fear.

Finally, after what felt like forever, his voice came out cold and heavy. “If you can’t prove it, stop spreading lies. Miles.”

Miles appeared right away. “Yes, sir.”

“Get her out of here.”

Panic rushed over Helene. “Julian, please, you have to believe me! I would never joke about your father’s death! Julian, you can’t be with Madeline! She’s your enemy, she really is!”
