When My Ex's Worst Enemy Became My Sanctuary novel Chapter 355

The so-called press conference felt much more like a threat than an actual meeting. The moment it started, a reporter who'd always had issues with The Stephens Group shot his hand up, ready to stir trouble. “Latham, so are you saying your wife is just secondhand goods now?”

The room went ice-cold in an instant. Latham’s gaze darkened, and every person, even those in the very last row, could feel the chill rolling off him. Some reporters silently wondered if this guy had lost his mind.

Latham’s lips curled into a cold, angry smile. “Secondhand goods?”

“Vernon, right? And what exactly does that make you? Pivot Point’s resident idiot?”

He didn’t stop there. “Since you want to challenge me here and now, let me make this official for you and your boss. Either my company buys yours, or your company goes bust. And you, genius, better start job-hunting.”

He let his gaze drift around the room. “Anyone else have a question?”

Everyone just stared at him in stunned silence. No one dared speak. With Latham in a mood like this, one wrong question might be all it took to lose their jobs.

Latham let out a small, cold laugh. “I hope some of you can learn to report something with actual value, instead of giving airtime to rumors. Anyway, thank you for getting up early. That’s all.”

He turned and walked away, not bothering to look back.

Pivot Point really had accepted a bit of dirty money from Georgia. No one expected Latham would go nuclear just for a woman. Vernon’s face turned a deep, ugly red, and he started frantically dialing his boss.
