Reborn, Reawakened, Rekindled novel Chapter 592

Alicia's gaze shot up at the sound of my voice, landing on Sean who was sitting next to her. In a split second, she was on her feet, ready to bolt without a second thought.

Sean reached out, his large hand firmly clasping Alicia's wrist, making it impossible for her to leave.

I rushed over, shoving Sean's hand away with force. "Sean, let her go!"

Facing our furious looks, Sean's expression cooled but he eventually released Alicia.

Though Alicia was a bit on the curvier side, compared to Sean's build, the difference was stark. If Sean had truly wanted to force her away, neither of us might have been able to stop him.

The lounge was empty except for the three of us in a standoff.

I realized I had missed something crucial. Since Sean had tracked Alicia's phone location, it was clear he'd be watching her closely. He could easily access her identity and ticket information if he wanted to.

"Let's talk this out," Sean softened his tone when he spoke to Alicia. Though his face remained impassive, there was a noticeable difference in his eyes.

I consider myself quite experienced when it comes to matters of the heart, and it was clear as day to me - Sean had feelings for Alicia.

But this was a twisted kind of love!

"Don't talk to him. The classic move of a man is to 'talk things over,' only to show his true colors once you've let your guard down!" Before Alicia could respond, I spoke up in her place.

The moment Sean met my gaze, his demeanor cooled. "This is between her and me. Please, stay out of it."

"She has every right to be involved, Sean. You're just an ex I spent some time with, whereas Rena has been my rock for years. If she can't get involved, what gives you the right to harass me?" Alicia, protective as ever, stepped in front of me, firing back at Sean.

Sean sighed, looking at Alicia with a mix of frustration and resignation. "Fine, I misspoke. But don't I deserve a chance to explain myself?"

"Do you really need to? It's clear as day, Sean. You've ruined my blind date, and now I can't even explain myself to my family or my date. Do you realize how much trouble you've caused?" Alicia was growing increasingly agitated, her tone confrontational.

"That was me being impulsive, but before we officially broke up, you were back here going on dates, considering engagement with another man. Don't you think I have a right to be upset?" Sean's tone was restrained, a clear sign of his frustration, yet he managed to keep his composure.

Alicia scoffed, "That's not impulsiveness; that's you being controlling and unreasonable. We have nothing to talk about. Stay away from me and my friends."

As Alicia cut ties decisively, Sean struggled to maintain his calm. He glanced at me, as if my presence made it difficult for him to speak his mind.

With our flight boarding soon, Alicia couldn't afford to waste more time with Sean.

I nudged Alicia, signaling it was time to leave. She nodded, "I know. Let's go."

As we started to walk away, Sean remained motionless. But then, a muffled thud made us turn back. Sean had stumbled, half-kneeling on the ground, clutching a table corner with a hand marked by protruding veins from the strain.

He was wearing a light grey sweater, not particularly thick, and now, faint traces of red began to seep through the fabric on his back, resembling bloodstains.
