Reborn, Reawakened, Rekindled novel Chapter 659

"Alright, I'll wait for you."

I had promised Kitty, but the curiosity bubbling inside me refused to be tamed. I was eager to know what she had to share.

Given that it was Neil who had sent her, it likely meant she was bearing his message.

A thought crossed my mind - perhaps Neil didn't have the heart to face me with the hard truths, yet he wanted me to move on. By sending Kitty, he hoped I would finally let go, pack my bags, and leave Eldoria, never to return.

The mere possibility weighed heavily on my heart. My already troubled mind grew restless.

Though I had braced myself for departure, the thought of hearing those final, decisive words still haunted me.

At the airport, I waited by the entrance for Kitty, with Russel keeping me company.

About ten minutes later, Kitty arrived, driving Neil's car. Seeing her step out, I sighed inwardly.

Kitty spotted me and made her way over. "Irene."

"Let's talk in the car," I suggested, managing a smile.

Nodding, she got in, and Russel immediately stepped out, "I'll leave you two to talk."

He was probably concerned that his presence would make our conversation awkward. After all, with emotional entanglements on the line, having an audience could be uncomfortable. Plus, I didn't want Russel to see me in a mess again.

With Russel gone, the car's interior fell silent. Kitty's expression was complex, likely pondering over her words.

"Kitty, just say what you need to. Neil sent you, right?" I started, trying to maintain composure, not wanting to appear pitiful.

"Yes, he did. He asked me to talk to you yesterday, but I delayed. I was torn," Kitty admitted with a forced smile, "Knowing you were heading back to Rosemont today, I made a last-minute decision to come see you."

Her struggle surprised me. "Struggle? What about?"

Kitty sighed, "I was struggling with whether to tell you to stay and fight for Neil. Irene, are you serious about getting back together with him? No regrets?"

Her question baffled me.
