The Alpha's Complicated Destiny novel Chapter 8

Is it really natural for all of the she-wolves to look scary and intimidating? Some of them keeps on glancing at our table, specifically at me, for no particular reason. As far as I know, I haven't done anything that could offend them. All I did was to think about the hot werewolf who I saw earlier.

"You look troubled, princess."

My eyes went to the guy who occupied the chair next to mine. He looks handsome and charming which is a common trait for a famous prince like him. "Prince Dashiell," I greeted with a frown.

Dashiell Deciede came from the kingdom of Denver, the second largest kingdom in the empire. I knew that he would be here. I already told him for so many times to stay away from me but he was too persistent. I honestly don't understand him. There's a lot of princesses who's willing to kiss his feet and worship his existence, so why does he keep on following me around like an annoying bug?

"You should focus your attention to me instead of those worthless werewolves, Princess Yvania."

I rolled my eyes. He's very vocal about his feelings all because he has a good relationship with my brother who was sitting next to him. Reehan would be overly protective if it was a different guy but since it's Dashiell, he would pretend that we were just a random vampire who's not worth to glance. He even threatened me that he would set an arrangement with Dashiell if I dare to disobey him.

"King Reehan, it's time for you to give a speech now," one of the waiter said.

"I'm not in the mood."

My eyes widened. "Not in the mood?! This is our territory and it's your turn to host the ball. Stop acting like an irresponsible king, brother."

He sighed. I thought he wouldn't listen to me so I was slightly surprised when he went to the stage. Well, he doesn't even have a choice but to go. I let out a proud smile during his first introduction but that smile turned into a frown when he started blurting some sarcastic remarks that would surely offend those werewolves who were attentively listening to his speech!

"Oh God." I mentally face palm myself when he sat back to his chair with a satisfied grin on his face. I don't want to ruin his mood even though I know that what he did was very unprofessional. He wouldn't even care if I point it out. When the food was finally served, I decided to eat in peace without minding those vampires who kept on complimenting me only because my brother is here.

I secretly glanced at the table where

the hot werewolf was. He was clenching his jaw, but I still find it attractive. Damn, I wish I could talk to him later.

"Princess Yvania."

I tore my gaze away from him when Dashiell suddenly called my name. I didn't notice that he was already looking at me with his pursed lips. Why is he staring at me as if I committed a serious crime?

"What?" I asked while raising a brow.

"I could see how much you want to interact with them but I'm telling you, they are much more cruel than us. Did you know that they almost attacked me earlier if it wasn't for you and your brother's entrance? God, they really like pissing people off," he exaggeratedly said.

I scoffed. "I don't care about your opinions, Prince Dashiell. Stop acting insecure and please leave me alone."

"I just want to warn you, princess," he irritatingly said.

Well, as if I would listen to his warning. I didn't talk anymore and I just finished my dessert instead. Dashiell keeps on insisting that it would be dangerous to approach a werewolf and I should follow his advice to stay away from them but I just ignored him like what I usually do.

"Princess Yvania, this is for your own sake. I can't risk seeing you getting hurt just because of them. We're a royalty, sitting on a throne, enjoying expensive things while they're just a bunch of dogs living in the middle of the woods."

My grip tightened on the fork. Why can't he just mind his own business? His voice is so damn irritating and it's making my head ache. "Will they kill me if I greet them with a hi? Stop overreacting. I can protect myself and can you please stop underestimating them?"

"But–"

"Oh, Prince Dashiell! I've been looking for you this whole time."
