"Y-You have a luna?"
I gritted my teeth as I glared at Reehan. He raised a brow and scoffed. He's really willing to lie in front of his sister, huh? I don't want my mate to get the wrong idea so I immediately open my mouth to speak.
"Your brother must be thinking a lot of things, princess. Everyone knows that I haven't found my luna yet."
"Oh, really?" My face softened when I saw the doubt and the curiousity in her eyes.
"Unfortunately, yes. It's really hard to manage my pack alone especially now that my father is getting older. They keep on pressuring me that I should find my own luna but it wasn't that easy." I gave her a sad smile as I dramatically took a deep breath.
"It must be hard," Ania said. Her voice was filled with pity, making Reehan to laugh sarcastically.
"Don't fool us, Alpha Caiden. You're just probably sitting in front of your desk while drinking a glass of wine and watching your beta to do all of your work." Reehan gave me a judgemental stare.
"Brother, that's enough," Ania scolded.
"How could I do such thing? If you don't want to believe what I'm saying, then don't. It's not like I'm forcing you." I shrugged.
Reehan shook his head as he started walking away, dragging his sister with him. My mate apologetically bowed her head before she disappeared from my sight. Ash was obviously disappointed but I made a promise that I will talk to her again. I went back to the table and I only saw Leon sipping on his cocktail. That's when I realized that I'm also holding one. I didn't finish it so I just put it on the table as soon as I sat down.
"Where's everyone?" I asked.
"Amaris went to the comfort room while the others went for a dance," he answered.
"I see. Can we talk about our plan against the Blue River pack?"
He chuckled. "In the middle of this party?"
"It's not like they're invited." I shrugged.
I really want to kill Dekis, the alpha of the Blue River pack but at the same time, I also want to be rational. Recently, a lot of rogues keeps on attacking our pack members and there's this time when they also tried to hurt an innocent pup. I managed to capture a rogue and it turns out that most of them came from the Blue River pack. Their alpha keeps on torturing his pack members for fun, which led them to abandon their own pack and become a rogue. I am planning to go in their territory next week to sort things out.
Leon smiled. "Let's hold a proper meeting for this, Alpha Caiden. For now, I want to ask something important."
I arched a brow. "What is it?"
He tilted his head as he stared at me long enough to make me overthink. Leon is an observant alpha. They see him as a threat because of his unimaginable knowledge and that's why I decided to conspire with him. He could easily ruin a completed puzzle and build his own piece by the use of his intelligence.
"You're mate...is in this party, right?"
My face turned serious. "How could you say so?"
"You asked earlier if we smell something and you've been acting weird since Princess Yvania appeared. It is such a pity to know that you've been paired with a vampire but come to think of it, if the position of the luna is no longer empty, your pack will undoubtedly be considered as the most powerful pack in the empire."
I gave him a glare. "Don't tell anyone."
He smirked. "You know that I always keep my mouth shut."
"Do you think it would work? She's a vampire and I know that most of the wolves in our pack hates their kind." I sighed. "I also hate his prideful brother."
"Then why don't you reject her?" He suggested.
