The Billionaire and His PA novel Chapter 106

Felix stumbled over the phone as he clumsily tried to pick up the phone. “Cassie. Are you hurt? Do you know where you are?” Felix asked, each word tumbling out of his mouth quicker than a response could possibly be given.

He pulled his laptop closer to himself and hurriedly started to launch the software that he had been working on ever since the night of Cassie’s disappearance. He had already set his phone so that whenever Cassie's phone came online, he would be able to track it. It had a lot of flaws but it was the best he could come up with in such short time. He couldn’t just download a regular cell phone locator off the internet to locate Cassie’s phone as she had built a series of safeguards for her phone to ensure that it was heavily guarded. She had everything on it apart from a proper password; it was both ironic and amusing. He had tried launching the app multiple times but the search always came up blank, indicating that her phone had been switched off. Now, it showed that Cassie was still in the continent. A few more minutes and it would be able to pinpoint her general location.

At first, there was silence on the other end of the line. Then there was the sound of a light rustle. And then came a voice. “Unfortunately, for you Felix, your little whore can't come to the phone right now.” A nasal voice declared.

Felix recognized that annoying nasal voice anywhere. His grip on his phone tightened.

“Luther. What are you doing with Cassie's phone?”

“I think you know the answer to that question already.”

“If you even think of hurting one hair one her head, your dental record won’t even be enough to identify your body when I’m done with you.”

Luther chuckled. “I don’t think you’re in any position to be making threats, Felix. I think you should know by now that your beloved is with me. If you want to see her again, it wouldn’t do you any good to start making any threats.”

“What do you want?”

“Ah ha. Now you’re talking sensibly. But that isn’t something that we can discuss over the phone. I’d rather have a face to face conversation with you.”

Felix gritted his teeth. “Where are you? Where’s Cassie?”

“Don't act like you don't know. You’re a smart young man, and my guess is that you're probably already tracking her phone. Not that you need to track it seeing as it’s a familiar place. The question isn't where Cassie is, the question should be if you'll get here quickly enough to save her. Get here on time and we won’t have to kill her. And one more thing, don’t bring the police with you. I’d really hate for Cassie to lose an appendage.” Luther said with an air of finality and hung up.

Felix brought fist down on the table with a loud bang. He had been stupid. All this while, he had assumed that Big Daddy had been working alone. Or at the very least, working with a complete stranger in Cassie’s kidnap. He had never thought about the possibility of Big Daddy working with someone that he knew personally. And if Luther was involved, his mother was sure to be in on the scheme too.

He made a series of decisions in a slit second. It would still take a couple of more minutes for him to get Cassie's location. At the moment, the only thing that it could tell him was that Cassie was somewhere in America. It wasn’t particularly helpful but at least it helped him to assure himself that Cassie was still in the country.
