The Billionaire and His PA novel Chapter 105

She startled herself awake the next morning. There was no way for her to tell if anyone had entered the room while she was asleep. As she pulled herself from the ground, she decided that anytime she was going to fall asleep, she would do so with her back to the door so that if anyone were to try to enter the room, she would know. Throughout the entire day, she anxiously waited for someone to open the door but no one did. By the time it was evening, she got into the shower and had her bath again, this time putting on her clean and dry underwear, washing her dress and then hanging it close to the radiator so that it would dry faster. It was already dark out when the dress was dry enough for her to wear and when she left the bathroom, she found another cup of ramen and a bottle of water.

She had started to worry that there was a camera in the room that Robert used to determine when she was in the bathroom to come and drop her food. Before she could think about it too much, she realized that the shower was really loud and Robert probably listened for the sound of it before coming into the room. That option was better than thinking about a possible secret camera in the room. A secret camera in the room would be detrimental to her escape plan.

She started to monitor the times that the food came into the room, finally getting her golden opportunity to escape on Friday; her sixth day in captivity. She turned on the shower and stepped out of the bathroom. Putting her in a room with a water heater had been a big mistake on Robert’s path as she had filled all five of the empty ramen cups with hot water and had bound them together with a torn-off sleeve of her dress. For the first few minutes that she stood there, she began to worry that Robert would come into the room late and that by then, the water would have already gone lukewarm. The thought had been barely fully formed when Robert walked into the room.

For a split second, the two of them stood and did nothing, momentarily confused by each other. Cassie regained composure first, splashing the hot water on him and then kneeing him in the shin. Robert grabbed his face and yelled out, tottering forward into the room. She used his momentum to push him further in the room and ran out, locking the door behind her. Then she started to run.

Cassie tried to keep track of which corridor she went down but it proved impossible as all of them looked the same. As much as she knew she had to keep going, she started to feel her muscles weaken. She regretted not moving around more in the room, if she had, perhaps she might have been more prepared for her escape.

She pushed on, continuing with her running and finally seeing a corridor that looked like she hadn’t been down it before. She ran into it, regretting her decision immediately when she spotted two people at the end of the corridor: Luther and Bethany! The three of them stopped what they were doing, locked in a staring contest fueled by disbelief and confusion. This time, it was Luther that first regained his composure and started to run toward her. Cassie snapped out of it and started to run in the opposite direction.

“She is out of the room.” Luther said into his phone as chased after her. “We’re in the South wing of the house. Get here now!”

He was talking to Big Daddy. At this realization, Cassie didn’t know where the strength came from but her speed picked up. Had it just been only Robert, she would have been able to make it out of the house just fine. But with Luther, Bethany and now Big Daddy after her, it was going to be infinitely more difficult. Granted, the only person that could keep up with her speed was Luther, being the ex-yoga instructor.

Robert would find it difficult doing anything for a while considering the hot water she had poured on him and Bethany seemed like the kind of person that wouldn’t run because she didn’t want to sweat.

When she turned around another corridor, the first thing that she saw was a gun.

“I’m sure that your little exercise has been fun for you but now, we’re going to need you to go back to being a good little captive.”
