The Billionaire and His PA novel Chapter 82

Felix woke up well before Cassie, his eyes flickering open to the stillness of the room. It was a bit past midnight but even without hearing the sounds coming from the ball downstairs, he knew that it was still ongoing. Events like that usually tended to go on well into the witching hour with some guests getting so drunk that they wouldn’t be unable to drive home and would have to book a room at the hotel. Once upon a time, Felix would have had to be present for every second of the winter ball, supervising proceedings and listening to bad jokes told be the already-tipsy bourgeoisie. With his mother out of his life, he was finally free to do as he pleased.

Cassie lay beside him sleeping peacefully. Once again, she was before him in nothing but her golden body chain as he had managed to convince her not to don on the complimentary silk pajamas that the hotel had left for their use and join him naked on the bed. It wasn’t hard work convincing her as the pajama shirt would have never buttoned over her boobs and the pajama pants were too short for him. Her blonde hair was splayed out the pillow like a golden halo and her delicate features were illuminated by the soft light coming from the bathroom and the dimmed room lights. In the dim light, the golden body chain glimmered between her breast which rose and fell with every breath she took. He had noticed that with each inhale, there came a faint whistling sound which worried him a bit. Was she coming down with a cold because he had requested that she sleep naked?

She stirred in her sleep as a lock of blonde hair fell across her face and started to tickle her nose. Without hesitation, Felix gently brushed the offending lock away from her face admiring her beauty as he did so. He couldn’t resist the urge to lean in and press a soft kiss to her forehead, reveling in the warmth of her skin against his lips. Cassie murmured in her sleep but didn’t wake up.

Memories of the night they had shared flooded his mind. He was glad that none of them had been drinking the previous night. The kisses they had shared, the way her body had reacted in response to his touch, the way her hands would grab on to ruffs of his hair and maybe his favorite part of the night, the sounds that she had made. He was yet to hear her crying out his name but he would wait patiently for that; they had the rest of their life for that.

The ambiance of the room was disturbed by a phone call.

Cassie groaned. “Turn it off.” She whined,

pulling the pillow over her ears.

“I’m working on it.” Felix replied. There weren’t many people that could be calling him by that time of the day. His mother could have pulled something like that but he had changed his number after he had cut her off. A foreign contact might have tried to contact him by that time due to the time difference but they preferred leaving emails rather than making phone calls. He slipped out of the bed and started to search the pockets of his pants for his phone.

“Felix!” Cassie cried turning over in the bed and holding the pillow firmer over her ears.

“I would find it a lot quicker if you helped me.” He said. Cassie rolled over in a way that told him that she wouldn’t be getting up from bed anytime soon. So he started to dig through the other pocket when the phone suddenly stopped ringing. They were only allowed a few seconds of silence before the ringing started again. Felix suddenly remembered that he had left his phone in his jacket which was strewn at the threshold of the bedroom. He dived at the jacket and fished his phone out of the pocket. The number on the screen was one that he didn’t recognize but he picked up anyway.

“Felix, where the fuck are you?!” Eliza’s breathless voice came from the other end. There was noisy commotion in the background and she had to raise her voice to be heard.
