The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 311

He had been really into Loraine for years, but she has done some bad shit behind her back and he couldn't face it.

"Her rib's broken, she's got a risk of miscarriage, and she's bruised all over." Hannah repeated. "Do you see how tough she is? If Mr. Salter had arrived any later, she might've been gone."

Broken rib?

A chill ran down Derek's spine. He couldn't even begin to imagine what Brittany went through in those hours when she was kidnapped.

Her rib was broken! How did Brittany, a frail woman, endure such pain?

Even he might not be able to handle that kind of pain, let alone the fact that she was pregnant!

Hannah didn’t argue with Derek; all her thoughts were on Brittany.

An eerie silence fell over the room. After who knew how long, a muffled sound echoed.

Brittany struggled to open her eyes. After seeing that she was awake, Hannah's eyes welled up with tears. She immediately leaned in and said, "Bri, are you awake?"

Brittany was in pain all over and tried to move.

But Hannah held her down, "Bri, don't move. Your injuries haven't healed yet; just lay down."

Brittany opened her mouth, but couldn't make a sound.

Her throat hurt like hell. Derek poured a glass of water, and Hannah took it, helping Brittany drink it sip by sip.

After downing the water, she seemed to regain some strength and calmed down a bit.

"How long have I been out?"

"A dozen hours or so."

Hannah put down the cup, "Your body still hasn't recovered; just lay down."

Brittany thought of the ordeal in the warehouse and instinctively clutched the blanket, "Okay, I got it."

"Need more water?"

"No, I'm good."

Brittany had just woken up and was exhausted. Hannah notified the doctor for a check-up; fortunately, there were no major issues.

Hannah breathed a sigh of relief. Thinking that Brittany might want to see Isaac, she moved a little closer.

"Bri, your husband is dealing with stuff at work; he can't come right now."
