"We're having a kid."
Brittany's mind was in a whirlwind, with disbelief written all over her face. "What did you just say?"
"You've always wanted a child, haven't you? Well, we’re having one." Isaac kissed her hand, his eyes twinkling. "It's been over a month already."
Having a child brought a profound sense of fulfillment to Isaac.
Now that they were tied together by blood, they would never be apart again.
Brittany looked down incredulously at her flat stomach. It showed no signs of pregnancy.
But she was carrying a child inside her.
"Really? Did my injury affect the baby?"
Brittany couldn't help but worry about the child in her belly, completely ignoring her own injuries.
"Don't move!" Isaac was scared to death. "You're seriously injured; you can't move around. The doctor said the baby is healthy, but if you don't rest, there could be complications."
Brittany remembered the scene in the warehouse and felt a chill run down her spine. "Thank god you were there on time."
She had been so focused on fighting Loraine that she had completely ignored what was happening outside. In hindsight, she was lucky that Isaac had arrived in time.
"It's my fault; I didn't protect you."
Isaac's voice was heavy with guilt. He had let his guard down because his bodyguards had been bribed.
Apparently, there were many spies around him.
Brittany had just woken up and was still groggy. Within an hour, she had fallen asleep again.
When she woke up, half of her body was numb from being crushed. Isaac was carefully holding her waist, his tall body curled up on the bed, looking rather pitiful.
His usually reserved face was worn out, and he had dark circles under his eyes.
Brittany felt a pang of sympathy and instinctively reached out to him.
But she withdrew her hand halfway, afraid of waking him up.
She moved closer carefully, her lips lightly touching his chin. There was no lust, only pure love and affection.
Isaac had been awake when she woke up.
He had just been pretending to sleep. After seeing that she was reluctant to touch him, he held her head in his palm and initiated a kiss after she had kissed him.
