When Joie first stepped into the lush Salter family residence, she was blown away by its opulence. It felt like she had just walked into a world of elegance and refinement.
She was absolutely thrilled. This was the life she had always dreamt of.
If only Brittany wasn't in the picture, everything would be perfect!
Isaac noticed her reaction. Subconsciously, he thought that if Brittany was here, she wouldn't be this excited.
He flashed a small smile. Seeing his smile, Joie felt a flutter in her heart.
They entered the residence one after the other, and the butler greeted them, "Mr. Salter."
"Where's grandma?"
"In the backyard."
The butler nodded at Joie as she tried to remain calm and returned the nod.
In the backyard, Grace heard them coming, picked up her cup of water and took a sip.
The sound of footsteps got closer.
Isaac led Joie into the backyard, "Grandma."
"You're here."
Joie looked up to see an extraordinarily elegant old lady sitting on a bench, holding a cup of water. The jade bracelet on her wrist shone brilliantly, a symbol of her invaluable worth.
This was Grace.
Joie restrained her expression and sweetly greeted, "Grace."
Grace then looked at Joie, who looked lean and clean, albeit a bit overdressed. Still, her young face was quite attractive.
"I heard from Zac about you. You were there for him during his hard times."
Joie blushed a bit and smiled, "Isaac also helped me a lot."
Grace holding her cup said, "Sit and tell me."
Isaac sat down, and Joie slowly followed. Isaac got her a glass of water, saying, "Don't be nervous, grandma won't make things hard for you."
Grace lifted her eyebrows, it seems her grandson was quite gentle with Joie.
"I heard your parents are no longer with us?"
"Yes." Joie replied cautiously. She couldn't afford to be careless in front of such an elderly lady.
"From now on, I'll be your grandmother. You'll be a granddaughter of the Salter family."
Grace sighed, "If you need anything, just tell me."
