The boy walked out of the gates of Lumos Enterprises, with a car waiting for him in the corner.

Deanna had specifically hailed a cab instead of driving her own private car. Samantha and Deanna were sitting side by side in the back seat. "So, how'd it go?" Deanna asked the little boy, filled with anticipation and nerves.

"I said everything you told me to," the boy replied.

"And how did they react?" Samantha was even more eager to know what Ronan's reaction would be upon learning that his wife was the daughter of a 'lady of the night.'

"The woman was crying the whole time, and the man looked pretty pissed." The boy replied after some thought.

Deanna and Samantha were over the moon.

“Are you still going to give me the money you promised?" the boy asked Deanna.

Deanna pulled out twenty bucks from her pocket and handed it to the boy.

"Since their marriage was just a show for Barney, let's go find Barney now," Deanna said, glancing at her watch.

Even though she had Cordelia and Ronan’s schedules, she didn't know what they did after work. They always left an hour late every day. Now it was five forty, and they would probably have to wait a while longer before leaving.

Deanna immediately directed the driver to head to Pearl Palms. Barney was the only one at home having dinner. Samantha didn't get out of the car. She waited in the car, worried that Cordelia would find out she was now in cahoots with Deanna.

"Barney, where are Ronan and Cordelia?" Deanna asked.

"Oh, Ronan just called to say that he and Cordelia went out for a meal." Barney replied nonchalantly. "Just hang out at home and wait for them."

Deanna then took a seat on the couch and started chatting with Barney.

"Barney, I just went to Lumos Enterprises, but Ronan wasn't there, so I left. I overheard some people at Lumos Enterprises talking, and they were saying..." Deanna deliberately paused, seeming to find it hard to go on.

"Eh, what's up? Just spit it out. I'm no stranger," Barney said kindly.

After Barney finished his meal, he sat down on the couch. He also sent a message to Ronan, [When are you coming back? Deanna's here.]

Ronan replied, [Soon.]

[How soon?]
