The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 228

Ronan didn't bother to engage anymore, instead, he gave Cordelia a few stern slaps on the face.

Cordelia was in a deep sleep, mumbling, "What's going on?"

She opened her eyes to see Ronan standing by her bed. "How did you get in?"

"Barney's in the hospital! Come with me." Ronan stated with a grim expression.

Cordelia had been up all night, her mind was foggy, but hearing this news, she quickly got out of bed, changed her clothes, skipped brushing her teeth and washing her face.

Barney had once said that cancer was incurable, and he wanted to preserve his last dignity, so he had always refused to go to the hospital. Now that he had been admitted, it seemed that things were not looking good.

"How's Barney?" In the car, she couldn't help but cry.

"Weren't you waiting for this day?" Ronan has been grim these days, never cracking a smile.

"No! I hope nothing happens to Barney. I'm not like you." Cordelia retorted.

Even though she didn't like Ronan, she had a good impression of Barney.

Ronan turned his head to look out the window.

Barney was in the best room of the best hospital. When Cordelia arrived at the hospital, she saw Deanna standing in the corridor. As soon as Ronan arrived, she instinctively clung to Ronan's arm.

Cordelia pretended not to see.

"What's the point of letting her stay at home? Janice couldn't wake her up," Deanna said to Cordelia.

Perhaps Ronan had told Deanna about Cordelia's purpose in the Evans family.

Cordelia felt even more guilty. Janice had tried to wake her up, but she didn’t hear it.

"Doctor, I want to see Barney." Cordelia grabbed the hand of a doctor who was coming out of the ward.

"Okay, you can get in," The doctor said.

"Okay." After saying that, Cordelia quickly entered Barney's ward.

Seeing the frail old man on the bed, Cordelia couldn't help but cry out, "Barney, Barney."
