The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 262

The words dirty and cheap hit Cordelia like a sucker punch, leaving her weak-kneed. She was a woman of virtue and grace; how did she end up like that, in his eyes?

"If I'm so dirty and cheap, go find your Deanna. She's clean." Cordelia's voice wavered as tears fell onto her pillow. She remembered the scene at Pearl Palms, the kiss Deanna planted on Ronan's face, and his absence that night. She blamed herself for deciding to divorce him, and deciding to sever all ties with him. Yet, now, she realized he was the one she cared about.

She was indeed incredibly cheap.

Ronan continued to nuzzle and kiss Cordelia's neck, and his grip on her wrists turned them blue. "I'll leave tomorrow," Ronan stated.

"I'd rather you leave now! Go to her bed," Cordelia growled in a voice hoarse with anger. Perhaps she realized her feelings for him and hated herself for it. She wished to forget her past, so she lashed out at Ronan.

"I'll go after I'm done fucking you!" Ronan didn't stop his actions, his voice icy with rage.

Afterwards, he leaned back against the headboard, pulling out his phone to make a call. Cordelia cried beside him, not paying attention to his conversation.

"Cordelia is leaving First Enterprises. I'll cover any breach of contract penalties."

"Where is she going? Is that your concern? Remember how you begged me once. Be careful, you might find yourself doing that again." With that, Ronan ended the call.

Cordelia turned towards him upon hearing he called Jamie. "What gives you the right to interfere with my work?"

Ronan looked at Cordelia, his gaze filled with mockery and calculated calm. He had regained his composure, once again the untouchable Ronan. "I just felt like it," he said, his hand caressing Cordelia's face, his thumb tracing her smooth skin. "Cordelia, you won't escape me in this lifetime."

Cordelia stared at him, finally muttering, "You're a psycho."

"You just got this?" He asked nonchalantly.
