The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 267

Upon returning home, Cordelia retreated to her bedroom, drafting a letter to UC Davis. She had received their offer, and would be attending on time. Additionally, she requested that her physical offer letter be mailed to Taylor.

The door creaked open and in strode Ronan. Cordelia startled, quickly shutting her laptop.

"Take your medicine," Ronan instructed.

Cordelia, still apprehensive, thought to herself, that living with Ronan day in and day out was exhausting. It was only a matter of time before he scared her sick.

"You're...leaving tomorrow, right?" she asked him tentatively.

"You're eager, aren't you?" He left the water and medicine on her desk, speaking nonchalantly.

"Of course not, I just wanted to know," Cordelia replied.

At some point, a barrier had formed between Cordelia and Ronan, and their conversations had become awkward and distant.

That night, Ronan cooked dinner, after which Cordelia went to bed. But as she closed the door, Ronan came in. Their eyes met, but Cordelia didn't say anything.

"Can we not do it tonight?" she pleaded, looking up at him.

"Fine."

Due to her pregnancy, Cordelia was uncomfortable and tossed and turned in bed.

"Stop moving!" Ronan held her close, commanding her.

Cordelia thought to herself, it must be the kids in her womb causing all this discomfort. It was his insistence on sleeping here and now he wasn't letting her move. She was careful, fearing any movement would stir his desires. As a result, he didn't sleep well.

The next day, when Ronan was ready to move out, Cordelia felt a strange surge of excitement.

As Ronan was dressing, he glanced at Cordelia, who quickly composed herself, reigning in her expressions.
