The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 304

Outside the hospital room, Cordelia couldn't bring herself to step inside, afraid of the sight that was waiting for her.

"Just go in. Don't wait any longer," Milana urged, her concern for Cordelia apparent.

Cordelia's complexion turned even paler.

Milana knocked on the door, and Grant said, "Come in."

Hearing Grant's voice nearly knocked Cordelia off her feet. It wasn't him. It couldn't be him...

Her legs gave way.

"Let's go in." Milana supported Cordelia, guiding her into the room.

The moment the door swung open, Cordelia saw Ronan sitting on the hospital bed, his back leaned against the headboard, and his arm wrapped in a bandage. He wasn't comatose, and he certainly wasn't dead.

Cordelia instantly relaxed, sinking onto Ronan's bed. Her eyes were wide in shock.

She saw Deanna, but at that moment, Cordelia was too relieved to pay any attention to her.

"Your injuries are minor," Cordelia murmured, her words were barely audible, but they seemed heartfelt. It was this statement that made her feel like a weight had been lifted off her chest.

"What, you wish I'd gotten hurt worse?" Ronan retorted.

Deanna thought to herself, “Cordelia really had no tact. Her words had clearly irked Ronan. It was indeed a good decision to notify her.”

Cordelia tried to move Ronan's blanket to check his injuries, but Grant intervened. "Mrs. Evans, Mr. Evans just hurt his arm. The bitch responsible is already in custody. Don't worry."

Cordelia glanced at Ronan's bandaged arm, unable to determine the severity of the wound. "Is it deep?" She asked him.

"Deep."

"Does it hurt?" She asked, worry creeping into her voice.

"Hurts."

Ronan looked at Cordelia as he spoke, with a teasing glint in his eyes. Then, he leaned in to whisper in Cordelia's ear, "I learned from the best!"
