The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 308

"You're not going!"

Cordelia was taken aback. She hadn't expected Ronan to be so vehemently against her decision.

"Why not? She was my grandmother. Plus, I suspect it was arson."

"Oh, we don’t need Sherlock Holmes here." Ronan's tone was much cooler now that he had voiced his opposition.

"You drugged me with sleeping pills when my mom died so that I wouldn't attend the funeral. Now you're doing the same for my grandmother's? I've decided to let the past go. Don't stir it up again." Cordelia was furious.

Ronan lounged on the couch, raising an eyebrow at Cordelia. "Your top priority right now should be to deliver my babies safely." Ronan's gaze was focused on Cordelia's belly.

"I am not a baby-making machine!" Cordelia retorted angrily.

"You're not going. Try me if you insist on going," Ronan declared.

"What are you going to do? Drug me again? If you dare, I'll abort your twins right now. Try me. Ronan, I've told you, I've decided to let the past go. Stop making me suspicious of you." Cordelia was scorching mad.

Ronan stared intently at Cordelia. "So telling me the babies are mine was just a threat?"

Cordelia turned her head away haughtily, ignoring him. She knew that once she told him the babies were his, she would lose her freedom.

"Give Sienna some money. They'll understand if you don't attend due to your pregnancy." Ronan issued his final ultimatum. "If you dare to do something reckless, don't blame me for being ruthless."
