Even though Deanna was not the culprit, she insisted on throwing baseless accusations at Cordelia. Deanna had nothing to lose; the case was closed, and the police wouldn't charge her based solely on her accusations. Cordelia was shaking, but she forced herself to stay calm. "Enough talk, Deanna. Leave. I already knew," Cordelia feigned composure.

With a huff, Deanna sashayed out, swinging her slender waist.

Cordelia felt herself falling apart. She had abdominal pain, a headache, and the urge to cry. She didn’t know whose version of the truth was correct, Deanna's or Ronan's, but this time, she chose to believe Deanna, who had confessed it herself.

Cordelia clutched her belly, leaning on the coffee table.

"Cordelia, what's wrong?" Janice had returned.

"I'm fine," Cordelia insisted, as beads of sweat trickled onto the coffee table.

Janice swiftly called Tristi, urging her to come.

"It’s alright. I don't need to go to the hospital," Cordelia protested.

"No, we can't take risks this time."

In no time, Tristi arrived, and Janice helped Cordelia into the car. Janice also called Ronan while they were en route.

"Mr. Evans, Cordelia isn't feeling well. She had sudden abdominal pain at the coffee shop. I think you should head to Victoria's clinic."

By the time Cordelia arrived at the clinic, she was as pale as a sheet.

"Cordelia, what's wrong?" Victoria steadied Cordelia. She ordered some blood tests and a sonogram for Cordelia.

Checking the results, Victoria became worried, and just then, Ronan arrived.

"What's going on? You seem distressed, and one of the babies isn't developing well. Cordelia, you need to stay calm," Victoria advised. "This isn't looking good."

"Which baby is it?" Cordelia asked.

"The girl."

Cordelia murmured, "The girl?" She was particularly attached to her unborn daughter.
