The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 328

"Cordelia, I'm not kidding!" Ronan said seriously.

"Neither am I."

Cordelia selected several beautiful pictures of lakes, alligators, and flowers, and posted them on Facebook. Her caption read. [The blooms have faded. Spring's beauty is fleeting.]

Brooklyn liked her post and commented, [Cordelia, are you on a trip? It's good for you to take walks in the countryside while you're pregnant.]

Emerson commented, [The scenery is indeed beautiful, but it's only the start of spring. Why the melancholy? It's making me feel gloomy. Change your caption.]

Cordelia replied, [There's no melancholy here. It's just that when I think of spring, I remember this phrase.]

Emerson. [Did your husband take the day off to join you at the park?]

Cordelia. [Yes, he did.]

In no time, Cordelia's Facebook post received several likes from her coworkers.

Cordelia knew it wasn't about her, but about Ronan.

"What should we eat tonight?" Cordelia asked Ronan, "I feel like eating soup. Is that okay?"

"Sounds good."

Cordelia and Ronan went to the supermarket to buy eggs and meat. Usually, Janice would do the shopping and wouldn't let Cordelia tag along, fearing mishaps.

But Ronan wasn't afraid

because Cordelia was his responsibility.

Ever since Cordelia became pregnant, she realized how wonderful these days were. He took her everywhere, discussing the quality of pork, and what kind of eggs to buy, and Cordelia’s face was always glowing.

Once home, the sound of Ronan chopping vegetables in the kitchen filled the air, making Cordelia feel warm.

During dinner, Cordelia sipped her soup and said quietly, "Wouldn't it be nice if you could stay at home with me every day?"

"What did you say?" Ronan asked, spooning soup into a bowl.

"Nothing at all."
