After Brenda left, Cordelia spent a few days moping around the house, feeling suffocated by Amanda's round-the-clock attention.

Suddenly, Janice requested a leave of absence. “Janice, why are you asking for time off all of a sudden? I've just had a baby, and I need all the help I can get," Cordelia asked.

Over the years, Janice had been working for the Evans family, and through their daily interactions at Garden Estates, she and Cordelia had grown close.
