The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 365

It was quarter past five in the afternoon, and Ronan's car was on the move.

"You're going out of your way to drop me off? What's up?" Emerson asked Ronan.

"I'm thinking of throwing a celebration party for my son's christening. Will you come?”

Emerson replied, "Your son is my nephew. I wouldn't miss it for the world."

Ronan chuckled. "The celebration is mainly to let everyone know I have a son. We didn't do anything when he was a month old."

"But Cordelia..."

Emerson was cut off by Ronan. "The party will be at Starlight Hotel. What do you think?"

Emerson had a feeling that the celebration wasn't just about the baby, but Ronan's calm and confident tone indicated that he had figured out his plan. Emerson knew he wouldn't be able to dissuade him.

"When is it?"

"This Saturday."

"Okay. I'll be there."

Just as their car entered a side road, a sudden brake was applied, bringing the vehicle to a halt.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Evans! The car in front just stopped abruptly." The driver apologized to Ronan.

The side road was narrow, and there was no other route. The driver impatiently honked the horn, hoping the car in front would move. Then, a young woman got out of the car in front. She made an apologetic gesture towards the car behind her and then ran over to talk to the driver.

The driver rolled down the window. "What's the problem? Blocking the road like this is unacceptable." He exploded.

"I'm sorry. My car broke down. I'll have to call someone to fix it. Could you please take another route? I know it's not ideal, but I'm in a bit of a bind right now." The woman's voice was soft and filled with regret.
