The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 381

Petra couldn't help but chuckle, as if saying, "Why dig up old teenage memories?"

"In high school, he was mature beyond his years. So steady, as if he would never make a mistake. His eyes held this proud look that never deigned to glance at girls. Plus, he was handsome, and came from a good family. He was too perfect to be true. What teenage girl wouldn't be drawn to such a guy? I was no exception," Petra said, laughing.

"Him? Perfect?" Cordelia raised an eyebrow.

"Isn't he?"

With a cold huff, Cordelia retorted, "He's got a nasty temper, is chauvinist, stubborn as a mule, and is a nightmare in bed, drives you crazy in ways you wouldn't believe."

Realizing she had let too much slip, Cordelia didn't continue.

Petra just gave a soft smile. "Guess, in my eyes, he's still that unreachable idol. For you, he's become a real, flesh and blood man. Why do you want to divorce him again?"

"We've been divorced. Never remarried!" Cordelia stated.

Petra gave Cordelia's hand a reassuring pat.

Cordelia fell silent, suspecting that her request for a photo would likely be turned down, considering it was a private matter. She pressed her lips together. "You probably don't know. When I decided to go abroad, he didn't agree. He said he would never let me back into the house, nor let me see my kid. I just want a picture of him..."

Upon saying this, Cordelia suddenly felt a deep sense of sorrow, and she couldn't hold back her tears. "I just want a picture of my kid, but he said I need to give him a picture of him in exchange. His one picture for ten pictures of my kid. But I couldn't find a single picture of him in all the photo albums. I miss my kids so much, I..."

Cordelia couldn't bring herself to continue. She felt like the most wretched mother in history.
