The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 392

Truth be told, Cordelia's cooking skills were quite commendable. But even the best cook couldn’t whip up a meal without proper ingredients, and her fridge was embarrassingly bare. Only a packet of instant soup lay forgotten in a corner, accompanied by a couple of eggs and some spinach.

She washed the spinach and set the eggs to boil, soon after, she added the noodles and finally the spinach. The sunny-side-up eggs she made were perfectly round.

When Cordelia entered the room, balancing the bowl and fork, Ronan had just pulled on his jeans and was fastening his belt, but his torso was still bare.

Every time Cordelia saw his bronzed skin, her heart pounded relentlessly, and she found it hard to meet his gaze.

"All we have is this bowl of soup, so just make do," she said, setting down the meal on her desk.

Their apartment did have a living room, but both Cordelia and Taylor preferred their own spaces and retreated to their respective bedrooms immediately upon returning home, leaving the living room mostly unused.

Ronan took a seat at one end of the desk, while Cordelia occupied the center, returning to her studies.

Cordelia's gaze often strayed to Ronan, who was busy eating. In return, he kept glancing at the books she was engrossed in.

Ronan noticed that many of the books were borrowed from the library, and their titles matched the ones Jamie had mentioned on Facebook. Cordelia was an obedient student and was reading everything Jamie recommended.

"Do you still keep a diary?" Ronan asked, pausing between bites of his noodles.

"Uhm..." Cordelia responded, resting her pen against her chin. "Life in America isn't exactly full of thrilling adventures."

"What about the days spent with me?" He asked.

“I was forced to keep a diary then.”

“About what? Our sex life?”

Cordelia glared at him, and her cheeks were slowly turning a shade of pink. "Don't be ridiculous!"
