The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 404

"No one bullies my dad!" A cute yet fierce voice echoed.

Emerson turned his head to find the source of the voice. It was little Callum!

Callum approached Emerson and pushed him playfully, staring at him with what he believed was a "fierce" expression.

"I didn't bully your dad." Emerson found this amusing and annoying at the same time as he faced Callum.

"Dad, did he not bully you?" Callum turned to his father and asked with concern.

"No, my good boy." Ronan gave Emerson a triumphant look that said, "Look, someone cares about me."

"Who do you think your dad is? The richest man in Millstone bullies others, not the other way around. If anyone dared to bully him, he'd take them down hard!" Emerson muttered and walked away.

Callum blinked his eyes, pondering over these words. However, he wasn't able to reach a conclusion. "Dad, is what he said true?" Callum asked Ronan.

"Well, you'll have to judge for yourself when you grow up."

"What does he mean by 'richest man?'" Callum asked again.

Ronan thought his son was too young to understand the concepts of wealth and money. He said, "When Cooper said your dad is the richest man, he meant your dad loves to read books and is very knowledgeable, therefore, he is 'rich' in a different way."

Callum seemed to understand and nodded his head.

"Then I want to be the 'richest man' too," Callum declared.

"Then you'll have to study hard," Ronan said, patting his son's head.

......

After deciding to invest in Birchwood, Ronan and Emerson prepared to visit the place.

This time, Ronan didn't bring Callum along. It was their first visit, and having a child would be inconvenient.
