The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 492

Over on Cordelia's end.

Upon seeing Ronan's message asking her to bring food, she found herself in a dilemma. If she refused this time, it would make her seem insensitive and heartless.

Of course, she would have to bring food for both Ronan and Petra and also prepare some food for the little one. After some thought, she cooked several dishes at home, prepared some food for the kid, and even bought two fish from the cafeteria, packing everything neatly into lunch boxes.

Having settled the food, Cordelia remembered she hadn't asked Ronan where he was. [Where are you? Let me know the location.]

As Cordelia was heading towards the school gate to hail a taxi, she decided to send the message to both Ronan and Petra at the same time, in case one of them didn't respond and she wouldn't be able to tell the driver the destination. Hence, she sent the message to both of them via Messenger.

Ronan was the one who sent her the address.

Petra didn't respond. Petra thought, “The child is now asleep, and it’s just her and Ronan in the sickroom, which is great. If Cordelia comes, it will be the three of them, and inevitably, one of them would become the third wheel, which would be awkward.

She sneaked a glance at Ronan's eyebrows and eyes, which were very attractive. He was looking at his phone, texting. She wanted to keep looking at Ronan for a while longer.

"The kid's IV drip won't be finished until midnight," Petra said.

"It's okay, I'll be here," Ronan assured her.

"I'll be here." These three words greatly satisfied Petra.

But soon, Cordelia arrived, bringing food for the two of them. Sweat was visible on her face, probably from running. Ronan's eyes lit up when he saw Cordelia, and he never took his eyes off her since.

"Petra, I sent you a message on Messenger, but you didn't reply. Fortunately, I was clever enough to send it to both of you," Cordelia said as she put down the lunch boxes and went to check on the child's condition.
