The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 617

“Hey, kiddo, how do you know who I like?” Samantha asked Callum with a playful smirk, though the thought of Harold made her heart flutter.

“Because your phone wallpaper is Big Bro, duh. That’s how I know.” Callum replied, his voice eerily calm for a kid who seemed oblivious to being kidnapped.

“Can I video call Big Bro, Aunt Sammy? Would you mind?” Callum asked, looking hopeful.

Samantha had always wanted to video call Harold but her pride held her back. The idea of actually talking to him, even if just through a screen, made her heart race.

“Sure, but remember, don’t tell him you’re here. Just say I took you out for some fun,” Samantha warned, her tone serious.

“I won’t tell,” Callum promised, maintaining that innocent look, as if he didn’t grasp the seriousness of the situation.

As they waited for Harold to pick up, Samantha felt her heart do somersaults. She hoped he would answer, yet part of her dreaded it too.

Then, the call connected.

Harold’s face appeared on the screen, his eyes widening in shock when he saw Callum.

“Callum??” Harold was clearly taken aback. “Why are you on Samantha’s phone?”

“Big Bro, it’s so great to see you again,” Callum beamed. In his video, he noticed a torn piece of paper on the wall with an address written on it. He couldn’t read it but hoped it was the address of this place.

“What are you up to, Callum?” Harold asked, concern lacing his voice.

“Oh, Aunt Sammy brought me here to watch her film some scenes,” Callum answered, his expression unchanging.

Samantha, watching Callum, saw nothing suspicious and relaxed. She was tired and soon dozed off on the bed. Adrian, the brute, was clueless as ever.
