During the college reunion, if Cordelia hadn't signed her name, making everyone second-guess their decisions, Robin wouldn't have been backed into a corner. He wouldn't be in this tangled mess we're dealing with now.
They'd just wrapped up a presale meeting that morning, buzzing with excitement. And Ronan had just settled a big deal with Birchwood Spotlight when, bam, this disaster hit them.
Edith Hills seemed doomed from the start.
Suddenly, Cordelia was terrified. She feared Edith Hills would end up like her friend Edith, who endured a tough pregnancy, carried a baby for nine months, only to lose it at the last moment, leaving Cordelia feeling a deep, aching loss.
Restless, Cordelia paced the hallway before calling Ronan. Her voice trembled, "Ronan."
"We're in an emergency meeting," he said.
Cordelia realized he probably knew everything by now. Lumos Enterprises had a PR department that specialized in handling crises like this. She was catching up late with the news.
Hearing that Ronan was in a meeting, Cordelia offered a couple of disheartened "okays" and hung up the phone. She stood by the window, staring blankly outside.
When Cordelia got home, Ronan still hadn't returned. She was a bundle of nerves until about eleven when the door finally opened. Ronan was back.
"What's the situation?" she asked him.
"We've scoured all the major forums, deleting posts. Also, Edith Hills might need a name change," Ronan informed her.
"A name change?" Cordelia thought. It was probably the smartest way to keep property values from tanking. Delete the posts, rename the community, and the residents wouldn't link to the old name.
She should have seen this coming from the moment she visited Daisy in the hospital, but she lacked foresight.
